Go contactless for fast, secure payments

Oregon State Credit Union Visa credit and debit cards now come equipped for contactless payments. The tap-and-go process usually takes one-two seconds, and is faster than inserting your chip at checkout. Look for the contactless symbol on the card reader.

Control and manage your cards

Card Control and Card Management put you in control of your Oregon State Credit Union debit and credit cards. Be sure to enroll in online banking to begin using these services, located in online banking under the Additional Services tab, and on your mobile app under Card Services.

  • Card Control: Set preferences, toggle your card off and receive real-time alerts.

  • Card Management: Report your card as lost or stolen, or order a replacement card.

  • These two card services allow you to:
    • Block selected purchases that you specify.

    • Set real-time alerts for selected purchases that you specify.

    • Toggle your card off if you receive an alert for a purchase you do not recognize, and then call us to report any unauthorized transactions.

    • Toggle your card off if you lose it, report it as lost or stolen in Card Management, and then call us if you see any unauthorized transactions.

    • Order a replacement card.

Set blocks and alerts in these categories

See the video: How to create alerts, block purchases and set spending limits

Merchant type

Block or set alerts for transactions attempted at certain business categories, like personal care, restaurants, travel, department stores, entertainment, gas stations, groceries or household stores. You can choose to receive an alert for all transactions of this type, only blocked transactions or preferred transactions.

Transaction type

Block or set alerts for certain types of transactions, like online, in-store, mail or phone orders, ATMs or auto pay recurring transactions. You can choose to receive an alert for all transactions of this type, only blocked transactions or preferred transactions.

  • Cards with EMV chips have reduced the amount of fraud at the check-out line, but card fraud has shifted online to card-not-present transactions, like online purchases. With Card Control’s Transaction Type alerts, you can prevent your card from being used to make online purchases. If anyone tries to make an online purchase with your card, you will receive a notification of the attempted transaction, and you should then toggle your card off and call us immediately to report the attempted fraud.
Location type

Block or set alerts for transactions in foreign countries. You will receive an alert if someone attempts a blocked transaction. You can choose to receive an alert for all foreign transactions, only blocked transactions or preferred transactions.

Spend limits

Block or set alerts for purchases greater than a spend limit that you set. You can choose to receive an alert for all transactions which exceed the spend limit, block those transactions or both.

Fraud protection active with free text alerts

To help defend you against credit or debit fraud, you're automatically part of our free, two-way text alert system.

The text alerts are the best and fastest way to respond to potential fraudulent purchases made to your debit or credit card.

  • What you can expect: Alerts will be texted to you anywhere you have a cell connection. If you see a fraud alert for a purchase you didn’t make, reply to the text message that it is confirmed fraud. See the Visa card fraud text alert disclosure.

  • Opt out of the service in one of three ways: 1) Respond to the Fraud Text Alert received and request no additional alert texts. 2) Visit a branch. 3) Call 800-732-0173.

Travel notification before your trip

Going on vacation or traveling for business? Communicate with us ahead of time. It'll help minimize interrupted service with your Oregon State Credit Union Visa card while you're on your trip. Knowing your plans, we'll be able to work even more effectively with our fraud monitoring service to assess spending activity on your card(s), if the activity is legitimate, and if transactions are occurring outside normal spending patterns.
